The Palestinian Authority's communications minister has reportedly announced that the government is searching for an alternative to Google after reports claimed that the famous tech giant removed Palestine from its map application.However, these posts were found to be misleading and the original Instagram post, which led to the international outrage, has since made an addition at the bottom of the post stating that it contains "false information."
"THIS POST CONTAINS FALSE INFORMATION AS PALESTINE WAS *NEVER* PUT ON WORLDWIDE MAPS," said Instagram user astagfirolah.
However, since the post went viral, the aforementioned communications minister has said that it was reason enough to find an alternate search engine for the PA.The post sparked massive outrage online and said, "this is a revolutionary year, and we will fight for the needed change to bring Palestine on the maps."
